FIFA 2022 World Cup Schedule

We’re now less than four months away from the commencement of the 2022 Fifa World Cup and 32 teams will be competing in the tournament. The games, which will be played across Qatar in the Middle East, will kick off on 20 November 2022 and culminate on 18 December with the final at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar. Here’s our look at all the teams that have qualified and the schedule for what promises to be an exciting competition.

The tournament will be played in eight stadiums across eight cities: Doha, Al Wakrah, Al Khor, Al Rayyan, Umm Salal, Lusail, Qatar Foundation Stadium, and Education City Stadium. The 2022 FIFA World Cup is sure to be a historic event, not just for Qatar and the Arab world, but for the entire world.

The tournament will involve 32 national teams, including that of the host nation, as was the case for the 20 World Cups held from 1930 to 2018. A total of 64 matches will be played in 8 stadiums. The final will take place at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Qatar.

The format for the group stage of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar has been confirmed, with four matches set to be played each day during the initial phase. The tournament is due to take place from November 21 to December 18, 2022, with the group stage running from November 21 to December 9. A total of 32 nations will compete at the World Cup, with the hosts joining the 31 qualifiers in the initial stage of the competition. The eight groups will each contain four teams, with the top two in each group progressing to the round of 16. Unlike at Euro 2020, where the four best third-placed sides also qualified for the knockout phase, only the group winners and runners-up will progress to the last 16 at the 2022 World Cup. There will be a third-place play-off game on December 17, with the final taking place the next day.

The quarter-finals will be played on 9 and 10 Dec’ 22and the semi-finals on 13 and 14 Dec. The play-off for the third place will unfold on 17 December 2022, one day before the final.
